City Incorporates Green Building Standards into Tax Abatement Program
Dallas County community, Adel, Iowa has approved a residential tax abatement program to spur new housing and economic growth. The three year program will offer 100% abatement of property taxes for seven years when constructed in 2011, five years in 2012 and three years in 2013. The City wishes to create more sustainable housing within the community and will require a certain amount of green building standards to be included in the residential construction.
