New census data confirms Dallas County has been Iowa’s fastest growing county this past decade. The 2010 Census data released Thursday shows the total population for the county at 66,155, an increase of 62.3 percent. The greatest growth has occurred in the more urban areas of the county, including the western suburbs of the Des Moines metropolitan area.
