IDOT Approves RISE grant for Dallas Center

AMES, Iowa – Aug. 9, 2011 – Today, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved a Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy (RISE) Immediate Opportunity grant application submitted by the city of Dallas Center. Up to $200,000 will be made available to assist in the construction of left-turn lanes on Iowa 44 located on the east side of town. This project is anticipated to be completed by January 2012. 

These improvements are necessary to support expansion of Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc.’s current facility. The project will support the creation of 20 new jobs and $4 million in associated capital investment. 

Funding for the grant comes from the city share of the RISE Fund.
