Thursday, November 13, 2008 TEAM Companies, an Iowa data center company, and Iowa Health System, the state’s largest integrated health system, are partnering to build a new data center in Waukee. TEAM and Iowa Health System worked with the City of Waukee, Greater Dallas County Development Alliance and Greater Des Moines Partnership on this project. Groundbreaking for the center is set for 3:30 p.m., Nov. 24, at the site on Alice’s Road, north of Hickman Road. A social gathering at Mickey’s, 50 E. Laurel St., Waukee, will follow. TEAM Companies and Iowa Health System have joined to form TEAM Des Moines Partners LLC for the data center project. TEAM data centers are built in three phases. Iowa Health System will occupy approximately half of phase one of the state-of-the-art data center in Waukee. The remaining space of phase one will be available for use by other businesses. The first phase of the data center is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2009. Iowa Health System’s critical patient and employee information will be stored in both the new center in Waukee and in one of TEAM’s other data centers located in Cedar Falls, Iowa where TEAM Companies is headquartered. TEAM’s proven data storage services will ensure Iowa Health System will have two copies of all records 100 miles apart for redundancy and disaster recovery purposes.
