Waukee receives RISE grant award for Alice's Road Corridor

Iowa Transportation Commission approves grant for the city of Waukee

AMES, Iowa – Oct. 11, 2011 – Today, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved a Revitalize Iowa's Sound Economy (RISE) Local Development grant application submitted by the city of Waukee. Up to $5,292,428 will be made available to assist in construction of approximately three miles of new roadway north from Ashworth Road to University Avenue on the southeast side of town. This project is anticipated to be completed by May 2013.

This project is necessary to provide access to more than 123 acres for corporate business office purposes.

Funding for the grant comes from the city share of the RISE Fund.
